How the Europe map quiz works

A country name appears, you click it on the map. Correct answers lock in, wrong ones show you the right location before moving on. There is no login and no limit on attempts, so it works equally well for a two-minute warm-up or a full study session.

Europe by region

Western Europe — Portugal, Spain, France, Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg, Ireland, United Kingdom, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Liechtenstein and Monaco.

Northern Europe — Iceland, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Denmark, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. The Baltic three run north to south in alphabetical order: Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania. That single trick fixes them permanently.

Southern Europe — Italy, Greece, Malta, San Marino, Vatican City, Andorra, Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Montenegro, North Macedonia and Albania.

Eastern Europe — Poland, Czechia, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Moldova, Ukraine and Belarus.

The countries people always miss

Slovenia and Slovakia are the single most-confused pair in the whole quiz: Slovenia touches the Adriatic below Austria, Slovakia is landlocked below Poland. After those, the usual gaps are Moldova, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Andorra, Liechtenstein, San Marino, Malta and Luxembourg — all small, all worth a dedicated five-minute drill.

A route that makes Europe stick

Start at Portugal and sweep clockwise: Iberia, France, the Low Countries, the British Isles, Scandinavia, the Baltics, then down through Poland and the Balkans, finishing in Greece and Italy. Following a physical path beats memorising an alphabetical list every time, because you are storing direction and neighbours rather than isolated names.
